Wondrous Wayne Maine (zip code 04284) is the vacation destination you have been dreaming of. A small, friendly village in the foothills of the mountains, with two big lakes (Androscoggin and Pocasset) and a number of additional lakes, ponds, rivers and streams. Here is a map of the Village boundaries and you can see for yourself.
“Wayne is a place full of exquisite landscapes where everbody knows you, where they take care of you when you’re sick, where your kids can grow up without fear. Why doesn’t eveybody live like this?” (New England Monthly: “In Praise of Small Towns”, April 1989)
Although Wayne itself has boundaries, the Wayne Micropolitan Area includes our closest civic neighbors: Leeds and Monmouth to the west and south, share frontage with us on Lake Androscoggin. Fayette, Readfield and Winthrop to the north and east, share commerce, worship, schooling and relaxation with us.
The Town of Wayne has a variety of informational websites up and running.
